Review source: Amazon Country: US Book: Days of Judgment
Powerful, Intriguing Judgment Day is an amazing novel!! Wow! Super, awesome, thrilling, spellbinding...ahhh I need a thesaurus. Author McLean may be a new kid on the block, but he writes with such incredible wisdom, depth, intelligence. The characters are well developed. I feel like I know them. This heightens my empathy for them and the incredibly challenging and enlightening opportunities they face. I could not put the book down. Half way through this book, I purchased books two and tree. I read book two... go there for a review. McLean's story is eerily similar to today's events. He strikes at the heart of man's true self, what makes him "tick." A very deep, somber look at humankind and his interactions with his fellow man. Given that, McLean also presents redeeming qualities in mankind, showing his resilience, ingenuity, and ability to self sacrifice for the good of mankind... or does he? You must read on!!! Review source: Amazon Country: Canada Book: Days of Judgment Strongly recommend this book This book has it all. If you're a fan of Steve Berry, Neil Stephenson or Dan Brown ' and appreciate moral philosophy conundrums (both high and low) then I strongly recommend this book. Waiting for the next installment. Hope it picks up where it left off. Review source: Amazon Country: UK Book: Days of Judgment Fascinating if you like the Daemon genre A great buy, thoroughly enjoyed it, the author certainly knows about geopolitics, and the final few pages are quite a revelation. A little too short maybe |
Review source: Amazon Country: US Book: System Crash
GREAT BOOK!!!! System Crash is a worthy follow up to a tremendously powerful and riveting book one, Judgment Day. System Crash is intriguing, beguiling, suspenseful, and rich in character development, plot consistency and suspense! Sometimes book two's are weak, and a mere attempt to create a trilogy, but not McLean's book two! This is a necessary and vital part of the story. The hard science fiction element is extremely interesting, and from my reading physics, feasible. Although McLean knows WAY more than me! The science presents things we have today (whether we know it or not!), or are aspiring to. What a fabulous continuation. I am mystified by the two main characters on which the System Crash depends... albeit indirectly. This novel is multi faceted in not only the science but in looking deeply into the character on mankind. Well, book three is beckoning... read and enjoy! You will be glad you did! (But plan on staying up late cuz you won't be able to put the book down!). Review source: Amazon Country: US Book: System Crash Excellent! What a fantastic book! I felt as if this 2nd installment to The Fall of Man was telling the story of our current times exactly! Mr. Mclean has put much thought and knowledge into this trilogy. His characters are very well fleshed out and make you feel as if you are a part of the story. I am fascinated by physics and the quantum world - who knows, maybe this is the true story of man! I have mixed thoughts as I begin the 3rd book, The Fall of Man: A Fool's Requiem, as I can't wait to see what happens next but I don't want this story of man to end! If you haven't read the 1st book, by all means get it today and continue with this book. I guarantee you will be as eager to begin the last book as I am! Superb writing!!! |

Fasten your seatbelt! Oh my goodness.... so deep, so wonderful, so thought provoking and well thought out ending to this trilogy. I really would like it to go on, and it can....McLean did a terrific job of tying up loose ends, giving some closure...but not total...enough so you can sleep at night, but also it's open enough to form your own opinions. Wow. Action packed, and some emotional stuff too. I appreciated a good hard sci fi with no sexual content! Yeah! There are wonderful, awesome, terrific clean novels. The few harsh words were absolutely necessary. I would have said the same thing if not more, in their situations. There was even a point when one of the characters who was in another realm had a discussion with one of our wonderful main character, and he tried to crack a joke and bombed on the scene. But I totally laughed. Several parts found me with my mouth hanging open and me gasping in surprise. There is no way you can predict what transpires. One of the things I enjoyed about this book was the journey of the characters. I was not reading just to get to the end to find out what happened, but I enjoyed every chapter. The book was so full of ...well, everything... science, friendship, loyalty, ethics, questions about life and afterlife - if any - and determination, and at the core - the make-up of man, the meaning of God or god? Warning: you may need a nap after reading this... or a little something on the rocks... I read the whole trilogy in two weeks it was that good. Enjoy!!!! |

Enthralling this book was absolutely incredible! It was an amazing journey with all the characters who became my new friends. The things they went through and the overcoming attitudes and efforts they made and the trusting of one another while still being scared to death were inspiring and heartwarming. The beginning of this book was reminiscent to Orson Wells' 1984 and other dystopian societies. But don't be deceived! It takes its own Direction buy 23% into the book! Such an amazing read that you won't want to put it down! McLean is a source of amazing imagination, hard science fiction, suspense, and a little bit of fantasy thrown in. His clean and thought-provoking novel is a gift to us readers. Thank you Mr McLean Review source: Amazon Country: US Book: Obey A fun dystopian read Really enjoyed this one. Grabbed me from page 1, and didn't let up until the end. Lots of twist and turns to keep things interesting, and I didn't want it to end. Would love to see another story in this universe. |
